TOM DELAVAN ~ DESIGN IN EAST VILLAGE

Previously a contemporary art specialist at Sothebys and the editor at large for Domino magazine, interior designer Tom Delevan decided to go out on his own and decorate homes. Art and architecture serve as inspiration for his work, mixing modern and classic.

This East Village apartment has tall windows and beautiful art pieces, which allowed Delavan to use a neutral palette. ENJOY!

Gel Nails - Know More About Soaking Off UV Nail Gel

The nail art industry practically witnesses a new fashion fad each day and therefore it doesn't come as a surprise that all kinds of unique and interesting nail art decorations are in vogue as soon as they are introduced. While those who are lucky to possess beautiful nails can show them off while those who are not so lucky can still flaunt their nails by either choosing to add a

Christian Tattoos

Christian TattoosDoesn't the Bible forbid Tattoos?
In the Leviticus section of the Bible, you will find a passage that sometimes says something about not making marks on the flesh, and sometimes outright says "no tattooing." It will depend on the modernity of the translation. However the idea is pretty much the same, and it's a seriously debated point amongst those who are strongly

JOLENE BALLARD AND AMANDA MALSON ~ DESIGN IN HUNTINGTON BEACH

Jolene Ballard and Amanda Malson love vintage finds and recycled furnishing. The owners of Domicile Interior Design, Ballard and Malson salvage pieces from their own family's attic, estate sales and thrift store.  It appears that it has worked for them.  ENJOY!

angel tattoos

Human beings have held a true fascination toward angels since the dawn of time. Even in this day and age of scientific evidence that covers most aspects of life, many people still choose to believe in the benevolent force of angels. As the ultimate sign of respect to this guardian, they may even elect to have a piece of body art dedicated to them.
It’s not just women who turn to angel

Happy Birthday Card to Wrap Up a Fun Week

What a week it has been!  The only think that could possibly top Cricut's 5th Birthday Party and release of the Expression 2 was a Royal Wedding!  I may need the weekend to recover from this fun, fun week.  I thought I would wrap up the week with a fun birthday card.

The card was created using Imaginesce cardstock and chipboard stickers, the I-Top tool, Stampin' Up stamps, and a Stampin' Up punch.   I really like the bright and festive look of this card.  The cake and present chipboard stickers really pop off of the brown cardstock on the cover, but then I took the card to the next step.  I added a stamped and punch tag, color coordinating flowers, and an I-Top brad.

I like the fold of the card.  Begin with a 12" strip of cardstock.  Fold the cardstock in half.  Then fold the top half of the card in half again, folding back toward the fold.  You will create an uneven Z fold.  You then attach a small rectangle to the top half of the card.  The photo above shows this fold far better than I could possibly explain it to you.

The top of the card pulls to the left to open.  Inside the card I stamped Happy Birthday again and left plenty of space to write a personalized message.

SLOPPY JOES

Sloppy Joe

Popular throughout America as an easy way to stretch meat, this sandwich of ground beef and spicy tomato sauce is a classic.

SERVES 4

1 tbsp. canola oil
½ small yellow onion, finely chopped
¼ green bell pepper, cored, seeded, and finely chopped
8 oz. ground beef
1 cup canned tomato sauce
2 tsp. Worcestershire
1 tsp. chili powder
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Tabasco, to taste
4 hamburger buns, toasted

Heat oil in 12″ skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion and pepper and cook, stirring, until soft, about 6 minutes. Add beef and cook until browned, stirring so that the meat breaks up into small pieces, about 8 minutes. Add tomato sauce, Worcestershire, chili powder, salt, pepper, and Tabasco; cook, stirring occasionally, until reduced and thick, about 10 minutes. Divide between buns and serve.

Please pray for those who lost loved ones in my Alabama and surrounding states Wednesday.
It was a horrible  2 days.  248 confirmed dead and over 1700 injured in Alabama, and the number dead is expected to grow.
