Everyday Cricut Sneak Peek
Hi there! I hope your weekend is off to a great start. Today is my regular Saturday as a Designer at Everyday Cricut. Joy and Melanie have graciously allowed me to do a bit of self-promotion via their blog. Today I am sharing one page of my two page layout, July 4th. The second page is just as cute as the first, but I am only sneak peeking one of the two pages.
The DVD set is on schedule to release this week, at which time the pre-order price will be removed and the price will increase a bit. I hope you have already ordered your copy!!
Please do drop by Everyday Cricut and leave a comment so that you will be in the drawing for the great Cricut Cartridges Joy and Melanie are giving away this week. Also check their personal blogs (Melanie's Blog and Joy's Blog) for a chance to win a set of the new Martha Stewart cartridges!!
Now go have some fun!!!

BBTB Monday Chandelier Challenge
Happy Monday! It is a rainy Bitten by the Bug Monday here in SC, but my scrap room is brightened by the addition of this beautiful Chandelier from the Home Decor cartridge. And while the chandelier may not be putting out huge amounts of light, it is brightening my spirits and my day!
I suspect that vinyl may not have been part of Regina's plan when she assigned the chandelier cut, but I had been hoping to add this cut to my scrap room for some time. Regina just gave me the push I needed to get started.
I used a 12.5 x 12. 5 WALL POP from Lowe's to cut the chandelier. The vinyl is slightly sticky/clingy so it attached to the wall with ease. I told my friend Kathy that if I was a woman who liked wall borders this would be adorable all the way around the room (especially with our tall ceilings).
I will add that the photos really do not do the project justice... which is often the case. And this time that is especially true.

Cozy Cottage Card
The challenge this week at Bitten by the Bug is the house card from the Wild Card cartridge. Have I shared with you just how much I like Wild Card? I use it for all of my base cards these days, no matter what else I do with the card. And the selection of "base cards" is just amazing.
Regina challenged us to use the house card and I immediately thought cottage! I used Stampin' Up card stock to create this cozy cottage. I double-layered the roof, adding lace trim. I also added an additional card stock "back ground" piece behind the door and plants.
The basic house card has a four section round window, which I deleted with the Hide Selected Contour feature. I replaced the window with a decorative cut from the Home Decor cartridge. I also added a crochet trimmed brad to the window center.
Instead of layering the front door, I used one door piece with pop dots only on the right side; the left side I zig-zagged closed. A small brad made a perfect door handle, and a small ring was a perfect door wreath.
The two topiary and the wreath are covered in flower soft. I used markers on the topiary, but decided they need more pop. Then I remembered the flower soft and applied it to the wreath as well.
The entire top edged of the card was straight stitched, as well as doodled.
I finished the card off with an additional rectangle containing the word WELCOME. I have new neighbors in the new house across the street, so I plan to drop by some brownies and this card later this week.

Finally!
Do you ever have ideas for projects and you just never get around to starting or finishing? I have had one of those for two years! We purchased a new house two years ago (two years ago next week actually) and while I did scrap the move process, I had never scrapped the new house pages. Until tonight... FINALLY!
It's actually a little funny, but I have put off scrapping the house exterior pages because I kept forgetting to get updated photos. The original photo only had "builder landscaping". I wanted photos that included the 16 foot palm we had installed, along with the flamingo willow tree and some of my knock out roses. I finally managed to get those photos taken last week. Coincidentally, I was also able to use my new Home Decor cartridge to cut some of the page elements (as well as Home Accents for HOME). And before you ask, I purchased the address plate two years ago... before design studio. The customized address plate came from Scrap Your Trip. I also creating pages showing the moving process and the paper and rub-ons for those pages also came from Scrap Your Trip.
My other project this evening was a monogrammed card. I wanted to try this cute circle cut card so I used it to create my monogrammed card. I foresee more of these in my future!!

Christmas in May?
I must say, today was like Christmas in May for me. I arrived home from work and found two packages waiting for me. The first, a box, I suspected was my Provo Craft special two cartridge purchase, but I had NO idea what that big padded bag contained. The label said "Cricut Replacement Parts." I took both the box and the padded package back to my scrap room... and THAT'S when it hit me: LYRICAL LETTERS from the Chirp!! So... today I received Lyrical Letters, Home Decor, Jubilee, a Juke Box, and the basic set of cricut pens!! If not Christmas, then at least a second birthday... without that whole aging thing!!!!
So yes, I did have to play with the cartridges. I cut some elements for a layout I am scrapping, but it is not ready for public viewing yet. I can share a birthday card I cut and assembled. It is for one of my chocolate loving co-workers.

Next, I finished some cards for stamp club. We have a card swap at our stamp club meetings. I guess I will have to wait to post the stamp club cards until Sunday. Sorry.
Finally, while using my nesties I spied my cute little bird shapebilities. I just had to make a card using the birds. I really like the simplicity of the bird shapes; they seem to "pop" off of the printed background.

I am not sure what is up with my color choices. I seem to be very attracted to aqua this week. I especially liked the softness of the aqua with the intensity of the deep browns.

I should have more to share tomorrow...
