Back from a long weekend

My hubby, his brother and I all headed up north to Hoodsport, WA this weekend and I'm still tired. We camped on Lake Cushman and on Saturday and Sunday, Matt and his brother went on 4 scuba dives to receive their scuba certification. I was happy to have both feet on firm ground while scouring the shoreline for shells.

Mushroom Madness, BBTB Blog Hop & BLOG CANDY!!

Happy Mushroom Madness Monday!!! This week's challenge cut over at Bitten By the Bug is the Mushroom from Cricut's Tinker Bell and Friends Cartridge.

I am going to confess right up front that I purchased this cartridge just for this challenge. I usually do not do that, but I have a friend who may want to use a few of the Fairy cuts in her daughter's nursery, and I really liked the characters.

I made a bi-fold card on which to exhibit my mushroom cut, something I was excited about until I ran into two similar cards on other blogs yesterday. Then I realized my great card design was not as original as I had thought. Oh well... I still like my card. I can't wait until I am inviting a friend over for pizza because THIS will be a great invitation.

Also going on today is another Bitten by the Bug blog hop. You probably arrived here from Michelle's blog. Your next stop, after registering by leaving a comment below (more on that in a moment) will be Carole's blog. I will provide you a link below.

All of the BBTB designers in this week's blog hop are offering BLOG CANDY. You have until Thursday, June 4th to register for my blog candy give away. My friends Kathy and Peggy and I went to Michael's and A.C. Moore today where amidst graduation supplies, stamps, sale items, etc... I purchased my blog candy!!! Be sure to leave a comment below and you will be registered for the blog candy give away. If you do not have a blog, please leave me your email address so that I can contact you if/when you win the candy.

You next stop on the blog hop is at the blog of the amazing Carole. Enjoy your trip!!

A new challenge from Bitten By The Bug and a new BLOG HOP!

Happy Monday everyone. Sure hope you had a wonderful weekend! Monday means it's time for another Bitten By The Bug challenge, and this week we're having a blog hop. YAY! More opportunities for you to win some fun stuff! First things first. The new challenge to you this week is to use the mushroom cut from the Tinker Bell cartridge. What a cute cut! You know I bought this cartridge, and didn't think I'd ever use it. But I'm really glad now I have it! It's got some great cuts on it, not just Tinker Bell and her friends. I got mine from Hallmark Scrapbook.

The DP is Bo Bunny that I've been hoarding. :0) And the cardstock is Bazzill. Isn't that little fairy just the cutest? I went looking for a certain type of fairy to go with my mushroom, and I finally found her. She was exactly what I was looking for. She's a downloadable from Dustin Pike, and I love her! She's colored with my Copic markers.

The sentiment is computer generated and then cut out with my Nestabilities, and the swirl was cut with a Sizzix die and then cut and pieced so they fell where I wanted them. I was trying to portray some "birthday wishes" swirling from her, so I covered them with stickles, along with her wand. Lots of machine stitching on this one, too. I just wanted a very whimsical, cute birthday card for a very special friend that is celebrating her birthday today. *wink* Sorry it's going to be a little late, ladybug!

And finally, this is what is up for grabs right here. There will be an assortment of stamped images, some yummy ribbon, fun buttons, clips, and shaped buttons, and a scrumptious package of Basic Grey glazed brads. Just leave me a comment on this post for a chance to win. You have until midnight June 5th (Friday), and then I will pull a winner via random.org next weekend. Now, whatcha waiting for??? Leave your comment here, and then hop right on over to Kazan to see the fabulous creation she came up with for this challenge, and for even more chances to win some fun stuff!! Good luck and thanks for joining our blog hop today! Hope to see you back again soon! HUGS!
